At VLT Athlete, we’re not just a group of personal trainers or social media influencers—we are a team of industry-leading professionals with decades of combined experience in strength & conditioning, nutrition science, endurance training, injury prevention, and performance coaching. Our team is built on real expertise, evidence-based methodologies, and a shared commitment to transforming lives.

With backgrounds ranging from Division I athletics, professional sports, military fitness, clinical nutrition, and large-scale coaching operations, our team has worked with elite competitors, everyday athletes, and individuals striving for sustainable health. We’ve battled through our own fitness journeys, overcome injuries and setbacks, and dedicated our careers to understanding what truly works—not just what’s trending.

Co-Founder & Chief Programming Officer (CPO) Maddie Shockley Gosik

With seven years of industry experience, Maddie has worked with diverse populations and understands why people struggle to establish exercise routines, lose weight, and achieve their ideal physique. She believes that a healthy lifestyle can be adapted to any schedule, and eating well doesn’t require hours of meal prep or extreme diets. Maddie’s mission is to help people build sustainable habits that fit their lives—without restrictive diets, endless gym hours, or relying on protein shakes. Health is about consistency, not perfection

Co-Founder & CEO Chris Gosik

Chris grew up a multi-sport athlete, but his true passion for health and wellness emerged after his 2013 Ulcerative Colitis diagnosis. After years of battling the disease, relying on medications, and consulting countless specialists, he took control of his health—transforming his diet and lifestyle to become symptom-free in 2021. Chris left his successful technology consulting career in 2024 to co-found VLT Athlete with Maddie, determined to help others reclaim their health and longevity through the same sustainable, life-changing habits.

Meg Kapa

Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach

Meg’s passion for nutrition started from her own journey as an athlete who lacked proper fueling strategies. Through her fitness journey—including Bikram yoga, CrossFit, and pregnancy—she’s learned the value of balance. Today, she’s on a mission to empower clients to take control of their health and performance through personalized nutrition guidance and practical, sustainable strategies.

Brad Godbold

Head of Strength & Conditioning

Brad has worked across NCAA programs, military fitness, and strength coaching, leading over 75 programs at Fort Campbell. He specializes in functional fitness and physical preparedness for life’s challenges. Now, as VLT Athlete’s Head of Strength & Conditioning, he brings his military-grade expertise and cutting-edge training techniques to help our athletes perform at their best.

Jimmy Christie

Official VLT Running Coach

Jimmy discovered his passion for running after college, turning what started as a way to stay active into a lifelong pursuit of pushing boundaries. Since then, he has completed 46 marathons, 9 ultra-marathons, and recently qualified for the 2025 Boston Marathon with a time of 2:46:23.

As a running coach, race pacer, and board member for the RUNegades running club, Jimmy is deeply involved in the endurance community, helping runners of all levels improve their performance and confidence. He leads the VLT Race Day Program, designing race-specific training plans tailored to mileage, terrain, and climate conditions for athletes preparing for major half and full marathons in the Philadelphia, NJ, MD, and NY regions.

Jimmy’s coaching philosophy is built on the belief that every runner is capable of more. Whether coaching 1:1, pacing a race, or leading a group run, his goal is to help athletes challenge their limits and enjoy the process. Through his training plans, social media presence, and community leadership, Jimmy continues to inspire runners to embrace the journey and push toward their next big milestone.

Tori Bergwall

Assistant Small Business Nutrition Coordinator & Merchandising Manager

Tori is dedicated to helping people fuel their bodies, build strength, and feel unstoppable. She understands the struggles of consistency and self-doubt but proves that real change comes from showing up, not punishment or restriction. Combining her passion for fitness and her strategic mindset, she creates sustainable, no-BS approaches to health and nutrition.

Jamie Maguire

Nutrition & Exercise Specialist

Jamie is a highly motivated and results-oriented coach who empowers clients to achieve their fitness goals with a science-backed, holistic approach. By blending meticulous form correction, tailored nutrition guidance, and unwavering encouragement, she creates programs that deliver exceptional results while prioritizing injury prevention and long-term health.

Her philosophy is centered on building sustainable habits and functional fitness, ensuring clients look, feel, and perform at their best. She carefully tailors each plan to meet individual needs, goals, and limitations while fostering a positive and supportive environment. Beyond the gym, Jamie is deeply committed to her clients’ success—guiding, motivating, and inspiring them every step of the way to build a lifelong passion for health and wellness.

Nicole Curly

IIN Certified Holistic and Integrative Health Specialist

Nicole is a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a key leader in Phase 2 of the VLT Transformation Program. Her expertise goes beyond just fitness and nutrition—she focuses on whole-body wellness, helping clients to decrease inflammation, improve their gut health, hormone function,  stress management, and long-term lifestyle habits to create lasting results.

Her Approach:

Nicole believes true transformation isn’t just about workouts and macros—it’s about building a lifestyle that supports long-term success. She works with clients to optimize sleep, stress, digestion, and daily habits so that health feels natural, not forced.
